I’m really glad I did. Mr. Kilpatrick's writing style is intellectually free-flowing prose that requires you to keep up. I like that about good authors. They ask something of you to participate. But as good as this book is, I think the audiobook is a more entertaining experience. Not surprising considering his wonderful actor's trained voice with its deep tone and perfect tempo gives his story it’s deserved theatrical effect. The crux of his life's journey to Hollywood is epic, sexual, bold and often shocking. It is also at once hysterically funny, and deeply tragic. All qualities you can sense in his screen work. Admirably, he seems to have a steadfast, unwavering compass as to who he is and where he’s going. His entire life looks to be one without compromise or apology. That spirit is all the more vividly accessible in the audiobook."

- If only for his choice of verbage, this must be read. Patrick also holds no punches in deflating Hollywood luminaries and is an unrepentant conservative. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this and look forward to volume two.
- Probably the best self-defining autobiography I've ever read. The writing is concise, hilarious at times, and recalls sad situations with no self-pity whatsoever. The author turned what might have, otherwise, been an immobilizing childhood into a no-holds-barred grasp of life on his own terms. His immersion into the Hollywood scene was also handled at his command, leading to a career surpassed by few, if any, others. You will be right there with him as he lives his life as most of us wish they could. This is only part one, impatiently waiting for part two!
- Kilpatrick's memoir is just absolutely incredible. It grabs you by the throat with its relentless intensity and leaves you gasping for air, before hurriedly turning the page to see what happens next. Never have I read a more honest personal tale of one's life than in this book. There are moments where you'll feel like a peeping tom or voyeurist, embarrassed at details that would normally be softened or withheld. You will cringe, be delighted and at times wonder how the hell Kilpatrick still breathes. It is a cautionary and unapologetic look at the celebrity life that many in Hollywood wouldn't have the guts or courage to be so forthcoming about. His energy, wordsmith-ing, and masterful recall of events that shaped his life personally and professionally, will keep you entertained for the duration.
